Ripasso means "re-passed" and in this case it indicates that the pomace, skins and stems of Amarone and Recioto are added back into the already fermented Valpolicella for an additional period of maceration and fermentation. The additional nutrients of the pomace helps boost the wine's body, adds additional richness, texture and complexity as well as giving a distinctive aromatic profile.

In 2021, Pra produced a Ripasso of uncommon restraint and and complexity. 

Aromas of dried plums, baking spices and licorice precede the beautifully balanced full-bodied palate which offers the freshness and floral tones of really good Valpolicella, but with the added body, richness and complexity of ripasso style Valpolicella.
