Regular readers of our newsletter know that: A) We love Champagne and are excited about it year round, year in and year out. B) We love the Champagnes of André Robert, especially the amazing Blanc de Blancs from Les Mesnil sur Oger. C) We very rarely feature Rosé Champagne.  We enjoy Rosé Champagne, so why don’t we feature them very often?  Well, because most Champagne houses just take their most basic Cuvée and add a little still red wine to it and charge an extra 25% or so.  But…this is not the case with this fantastic Rosé Champagne from André Robert. 

While the front label presents this as a non-vintage Champagne, the back label notes that it is all from the (very great) 2019 vintage.  An approximate blend of 50% Chardonnay, 25% Pinot Meunier and 25% Pinot Noir, this is very classy Rosé.  A pretty light rosé color sets the tone.  The nose offers lively strawberry fruit, a dash of spice and a touch of chalky minerality. The palate reprises the aromatic themes and adds facets of raspberry and orange zest to the mix which suits the wine’s plush texture and elegant mousse.  This Champagne is going into my cellar and I recommend it for yours too.
